Their podcast reunion hints at healing after years of distance and drama.
Let’s dive into the latest buzz coming from the Nickelodeon archives—Josh Peck recently opened up about why he invited the infamous producer Dan Schneider to his 2017 wedding while leaving his Drake & Josh co-star, Drake Bell, off the guest list.
It’s definitely a headline that makes you go, “Hmm,” right? On his Good Guys podcast this week—specifically March 27, 2025 Josh had a sit-down with Drake for a two-part reunion that’s got everyone talking.
The 38-year-old actor didn’t hold back, clarifying that Schneider got an invitation simply because
“my mom was friends with his wife.”
That’s it—straightforward, personal, and not some elaborate scheme. On the flip side, Drake, who played his on-screen stepbrother from their 2004-2007 sitcom, didn’t score an invite, and that’s stirred up a wave of nostalgia and curiosity.
Josh, who married Paige O’Brien in an intimate ceremony in Malibu, shared that at the age of 30, he was in a different mindset.
“I just wanted to leave it all behind because it felt like it didn’t serve me anymore,”
he explained to Drake during the podcast. In other words, he was ready to move on from the Nickelodeon era—although, evidently, not from Schneider.
Back in 2017, Drake Bell didn’t hold back his feelings about not being invited, posting some now-deleted tweets like,
“When you’re not invited to the wedding, the message is clear.”
Ouch. Fast forward to now, and Josh reassures that it wasn’t meant as a personal slight.
“It’s not an indictment of one particular person,”
he added, mentioning that now at 38, he’d definitely reconsider that guest list—Drake and iCarly’s Miranda Cosgrove would definitely make the cut.
Their conversation was candid, touching on their complicated history and the fallout from Quiet on Set, the 2024 docuseries where Drake disclosed abuse by dialogue coach Brian Peck (who is not related to Josh). It’s a messy but relatable tale of friendship, fame, and growing up in the limelight.
