London, UK / Gräfelfing, Germany – On Wednesday, May 28, 2025, Parkopedia and NIO announced their partnership to provide on-street parking functionality to all European models of the premium smart electric vehicle brand. The collaboration will see Parkopedia’s extensive and high-quality parking data being integrated into NIO’s navigation system, allowing drivers to easily locate on-street parking and make informed parking decisions.
The demand for connected car services is on the rise globally, with 92% of drivers experiencing difficulties in finding parking according to the latest Global Driver Survey. In addition, 77% of drivers have expressed their desire for integrated parking services in their vehicles, highlighting the importance of OEMs providing high-quality services for their customers. NIO, a rapidly-growing brand with nearly 50% increase in sales and over 750,000 cumulative deliveries in May 2025, is committed to enhancing the driving experience for its customers.
The partnership will bring the ‘On-Street Parking’ functionality to NIO’s European drivers, providing a smarter and more convenient navigation experience. This feature will display available parking options directly on the integrated navigation system, with Parkopedia’s data showing the likelihood of finding an open space. Light blue sections indicate a lower chance, while dark blue sections signify a higher probability of available parking.
Drivers will also have access to detailed information about each parking zone, including hourly rates, restrictions, and accepted payment methods. This will help them plan their journeys more efficiently and arrive at their destination with less stress. NIO’s latest software update, ‘Banyan 2.4.1’, will be rolled out in the next few days across all current NIO models in Europe. This update, delivered wirelessly through the new NIO App Store’s navigation app update, will introduce a range of new features such as parking situation reports, on-street POI information, and intelligent enhancements designed to enrich the in-car experience.
