FIFA President Gianni Infantino appeared on 5 Good Day York on March 6, where co-host Rosanna Scotto inquired about the potential for Drake to perform at the upcoming World Cup.

“I have a fantastic suggestion for the halftime show — Drake,”
she proposed.
“Since you were at the Super Bowl — Kendrick Lamar mentioned him during the event.”
Infantino responded humorously to the idea by referencing the rivalry between Drake and Lamar.

he remarked.
“That’s an excellent suggestion. In fact, Drake was with us when we unveiled the host cities. I ought to have his contact saved somewhere.”
He referred to the halftime show, which Coldplay’s Chris Martin is curating, as the “greatest halftime show ever”.

The inaugural match of the tournament will occur in Toronto on June 12, 2026, with Vancouver, British Columbia, also set to host a game.
